Wisconsin Has A New Health Insurance Program

It’s called the BadgerCare Basic Program. This program was just passed the Legislature on Wednesday. It provide a basic health insurance for Wisconsin residents. Now Thousands who were not insured now can look the BadgerCare Basic program as a way to stay covered with the state funded health care coverage. This will be for Adults who have been on the waiting list for the BadgerCare Core plan. About 34,000 people currently make up the waiting list.

All members who take advantage of the BadgerCare Basic plan must pay a $130 monthly premium. Enrollment into this plan begins on the 1st of the month but when your premium is received will determine when your plan will go into effect. If you 1st insurance premium is received on the 15th of the month before $4:30, your coverage will begin on the 1st of the next month. If your premium is received after that time your coverage can be delayed a full month until the 1st of the following month which can be up to 45 days from the time your 1st payment was received.
