What is a crash tax?
Posted on May 13th, 2011
A crash tax refers to a fee charged to you or your insurer levied by a municipality for emergency response in an accident. Cities and towns have been using this money to plug holes in their budgets. Two states have banned this practice- Arizona and Utah. Kansas has a ban pending the governor’s signature.
